On Wednesday 18th of June Jo Penberthy, vicar of Cucklington will be our speaker. Her subject is a tough one. Via Dr Johnston kicking a stone she leads us to explore the world of quantum physics, that is the very, very, very small, as opposed to cosmology, the very, very, very big, and explores how the mathematical models which are used to explain the quantum world, do not add up or are contradictory and go against what we experience in the everyday world of common sense and “normal” science. This raises for her the question, “How as a theologian should I try to deal with this?”
To make reading her paper more accessible I have highlighted what seem to me the key sections in bold and italics in the hope that you dear reader will find it easier to deal with.
